Alfons Runggaldier

The works of Alfons Runggaldier (*1968, St. Ulrich) speak of encounter and dialogue. With a clear, reduced formal language, he distills the essence of human closeness - the tension, the understanding, the quiet strength of what lies in between. His sculptures are not loud gestures, but subtle signs of relationship: figures that seek one another, turn towards each other, or remain in distance - symbols of hurman togetherness. In the dialogue of form and space, of silence and expression, images emerge that reach beyond the visible. In Runggaldier's art, encounter is not only portrayed but made tangible - as an invitation to meet oneself and the Other anew.

The simplest way to reach Val Gardena is to follow the Brenner Motorway A22. Coming from north, follow Innsbruck-Brenner-Chiusa. Coming from south, follow Verona-Trento-Bolzano. Take the „Chiusa/Val Gardena“ exit. After about 20 km, along the panoramic road SS242, following the road signs to „Val Gardena/Grödental“, you will reach Ortisei / St. Ulrich.
